- Worth It? A Vegan's Recommendation
As a lifelong vegan, I am always happy to see new brands and meal delivery services catering to my lifestyle. So, as you can imagine I was ecstatic when I first heard about Sprinly, a 100% plant-based meal delivery service using no refined sugars or artificial preservatives and 100% gluten-free.
The point of this article is to review Sprinly and give you all the knowledge and information you need to make an informed decision as to whether or not this service is worth it for you and your needs.
TLDR; Summary of Sprinly Meals Review
Using Sprinly as your vegan meal delivery service gives you the ability to live a vegan lifestyle. Their ready-made meals are simple to heat up (with an air fryer, oven, or microwave), completely plant-based, never frozen, always fresh, and developed by legit chefs and nutritionists. The only knock I have with them is that they're a little on the pricey side (starting at $109 per week, or $18.17 per meal).
Compared to a vegan meal delivery service I love – Trifecta (read my review of Trifecta vegan meals to learn more) is only $15 per meal, sometimes lower (use code glamvegan40 for 40% off your first order if you choose it). Overall, if you have the money and decide to go with Sprinly, you won't be disappointed. On the other hand, if you're weary about budget savings, you'll want to check out other top-rated vegan meal delivery brands that we tried and ranked here at GLAM Vegan.

What Is Sprinly?
If you want to know all the ins and outs before making a decision, then read on, because I’m going to fill you in on all the details in this no holds bare Sprinly review.

Sprinly's Vegan Meal Plan Options
Right off the bat, the first thing you’re going to want to know is what type of plans Sprinly has. You can choose between 6, 12, or 18 meals per week, depending on how often you plan to consume these meals.
For example, let’s say you want to use Sprinly for your lunches, you could go with the 6 meals per week option and have lunch for 6 out of the 7 days of the week. Conversely, if you wanted to eat most of your meals with Sprinly or you’re ordering for more than one person, you could go for the 18-meal option and have plenty of options as far as divvying them up.
Something to keep in mind, though, is that there are currently only 6 meal options available per week, so if you order more than 6 meals, you’ll be doubling or tripling up on them.
Plans and Pricing: How much does Sprinly cost?
Like most meal delivery services, Sprinly offers reduced prices on their meals for their larger package options. They offer a variety of weekly meal plans. The company offers plans of up to 18 meals per week, which would cost you $289 per week, and as low as 6 meals per week, which would cost you $109 per week, or about $18.17 per meal.

Here’s a breakdown of pricing:
Meals Per Week | Price Per Meal | Price Per Week |
---|---|---|
6 meals | $18.17 | $109 |
12 meals | $16.83 | $199 |
18 meals | $16.06 | $289 |
Yes, the meals are on the higher end when it comes to price, however, you have to consider what you spend on groceries, meals out, and the cooking time you are saving as you determine if it’s worth it or not. For many, the time they save planning, shopping, and preparing meals is justification enough to invest in a vegan meal delivery service like Sprinly.
Shipping
Unfortunately, Sprinly is not yet available nationwide. However, they do deliver throughout the East Coast, Midwest, and South. They have plans of expanding to the rest of the country soon, though, so stay tuned!
Before you get started with Sprinly subscription boxes, make sure that they deliver to your area. You can do this by clicking on the button on their website that says “Get Started.” A popup will immediately appear asking for your zip code which will then allow you to move forward in the process or not.
If they do service your area, the great news is that shipping is FREE. All deliveries are made on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and delivered to your door by FedEx.
[Updated May 2022] They now deliver to all 50 states!!
Each Sprinly box is professionally packaged to maintain the optimal temperature of your food. Inside the boxes, you’ll find insulation and gel packs to keep your meals fresh and cool until you’re able to get them inside and into the fridge.
Packaging, Sustainability, and Recycling
Speaking of boxes and packaging, it’s important to note that Sprinly supports sustainable packaging and the environment, therefore, they take steps to make sure that you can responsibly recycle your packaging.
The insulated box can be broken down and recycled curbside. The gel packs can be reused or can be emptied into the trash and the plastic casing recycled. All food containers are fully recyclable and made from 40% recycled materials.
The bottom line is this: if you care about the environment and do your part, Sprinly’s packaging will allow you to do so, but it will take a little time and effort on your part to make sure that all of the components get to where they need to go.
What to Expect From Sprinly's Menu
Onto the fun stuff…the food! Each week, you can expect to see 6 menu options to choose from on the Sprinly website. Given that the smallest meal plan is 6 meals, you can either choose to try one of each meal or get multiples of a couple that sound the best to you and your preferences.
Here’s what’s on the menu for the week that I am writing this:
- Mediterranean Veggie Kofta Crumble
- Zucchini Noodle Pesto
- Bean-Packed Marinara
- General Tsao’s Tofu
- Royal Beet Medallions
- Blueberry Salad
You can click on each meal and read a full description, including ingredients and nutrition facts. One thing that surprised me about these meals is that they are not low-calorie. I love that each meal is calorically dense enough to sustain me between meals, but it’s something to keep in mind for those that track calories.
There’s a common misconception that eating vegan means eating lettuce and “rabbit food,” however, these meals are fully loaded with flavor, texture, and all the comforts you’re looking for. Sprinly does a great job of curating meals that are the vegan versions of your favorites.
Nutrition and Calorie Information
I touched on this in my last point, but to give you an idea of what to expect from Sprinly meals, you’ll want to know more about the calorie count. It seems that the company is more focused on providing high-quality, delicious foods that are good for you than worrying about the calorie content, which may or may not be a positive for you. You can expect that the meals will have anywhere from 350-650 calories each.
All meals are organic, gluten-free, low in sodium and oil, and 100% free from artificial sweeteners and refined sugars, which means that you can generally feel really good about consuming these meals.
Will Sprinly work with my specific diet?
If you're following a vegan diet, plant-based diet, avoiding dairy, or eschewing animal products, Sprinly can cater to you. The meals are organic, low in sodium and oil, gluten-free, and do not contain refined sugars and sweeteners. That's something we (as vegans) can all celebrate! What a time to be alive!
Does It Work For Weight Loss?
Sprinly is not a weight-loss-specific meal plan. However, Sprinly can be an excellent option for those looking to lose weight while following a plant-based diet. They have everything in place for weight loss, including meals high in protein, which has been shown to significantly help people lose weight.
How to Prepare The Meals (Is it easy?)
Every Sprinly meal is shipped fresh, never frozen. However, if you should be unable to eat your meal before the date on the packaging, you could freeze it to preserve it for a month or two.
The company does a great job of packaging its meals carefully to prevent any spillage or mixing of ingredients. Each meal comes with cooking instructions, which will vary from meal to meal. However, it’s always very simple and requires nothing more than a quick reheat in your microwave. For example, for a meal that comes with dressing or sauce, Sprinly will instruct you to remove the stress and set it aside before heating. Of course, some meals, like salads, will be eaten cold and therefore require little to no preparation.
Why I Chose To Try Sprinly
Being vegan hasn’t always been easy. In the past, my meal options were limited, but that never deterred me from choosing to live a vegan lifestyle. Thankfully, these days it’s much easier to enjoy a variety of vegan foods thanks to brands like Sprinly.
I chose to try out Sprinly because I did a little research into the company and liked what they were doing. Being the skeptic that I am (I’ve had some bad meal delivery!), I went ahead and ordered their minimum order amount which is 6 meals.
And because I knew I wanted to review Sprinly and I’m an adventurous eater, I ordered one of each from their weekly menu of 6. Here’s what I got:
- Baked Falafel Beet Hummus Plate
- Osaka Soba Noodles
- Smoky Bun-less Beet Burger
- Smoked sweet potato tacos
- Indian Spiced Coconut Carrot Curry
- Mac & “Cheese” with BBQ Jackfruit
Honestly, I was excited about all 6 dishes, they all sounded delicious to me! I love how creative they are and how Sprinly gives an element of comfort food to every meal. One thing that you should keep in mind is that meals repeat, so you can expect to see the same ones on rotation, with some new ones sprinkled in now and then.
Receiving My Box
I ordered my Sprinly box the week before to ensure that I would have my meals for the next week upcoming. Sprinly’s website was very easy to navigate and the directions for getting started were clear and simple. Upon placing my order, I received a confirmation email and then an email from FedEx with my tracking number. This was nice as I could track my meals and ensure I knew when they were coming so that I could plan accordingly. I.e. not purchase a bunch of groceries and make sure that I’m home to bring the box in.
The box was delivered right on schedule and was in great shape. Inside, the contents looked fresh and intact and they have properly cooled thanks to the great insulation. After unpacking my box and placing my meals in the refrigerator, I recycled and disposed of all packaging materials properly.
My Thoughts on The Meals
Ok, onto the good stuff – the meals! How did they taste? Are these vegan meals worthy of their price tag?
First, I’ll be completely transparent and tell you that I liked every meal, but didn’t love every option. For example, the smokey bun-less beet burger was good, but it’s not something that I would order if I saw it on the menu again. I’ve never been a huge beet fan, though.
Other than that, the meals far exceeded my expectations. Sprinly manages to deliver meals that taste as though they were freshly prepared that day. No sogging vegetables, withering greens, or stale sauces here!
My favorite meal was the sweet potato tacos. I love tacos and these had all the fixings, including a roasted red pepper salsa that was out of this world good.
So, my thoughts are one thing, but what about others that used Sprinly and their gluten-free plant-based meals? I dug a little deeper to see if there were other Sprinly reviews out there on their site and across the web. Here's what I found:
Ratings and Reviews
After researching what people had to say about this meal delivery service, there was an overwhelming amount of positive Sprinly reviews from satisfied customers. The majority of consumers rave about the amount of plant-based meals to choose from and how fast the meals get delivered. In addition, so many customer reviews talk about how good Sprinly's customer service and from my calculations, it's a 9.9/10 rating.
Let's take a look at some real-life Sprinly reviews from very happy customers:
Usually, I don't leave reviews on anything, but I was so impressed by my first Sprinly meal. It was a gluten free pasta with a detox salad – all ready to eat after delivery. This meal was outstanding, delisious, yummy and filling. Sprinly is a 10/10 in my rating system and is one of the better vegan meal kits I've tried.
Stacey Mattison (Also a Lifelong Vegan)
Out of all the plant based meals and vegan food delivery companies I've tried, Sprinly is my favorite of the meal plans that provide gluten free, ready to eat food that requires no cooking. I ordered the pasta and cashew parm (also known as free pasta and cashew) and the Veggie Kofta Crumble with Vegan Tzatziki – both meals were excellent. An easy 10/10 and I'll be back for more!

Worth It? A Vegan's Recommendation
I may have scoffed a little at the price when I first ordered my box, but after eating these meals, I am 100% convinced that they are worth the price and then some. There’s nothing better than a delicious, home-cooked meal that satisfies all the senses.
That said, I understand that budget plays a big role in deciding which vegan meal subscription makes the most sense for you. Sprinly is on the higher end of the price per meal, so maybe not be the best option for folks who are budget conscious. An option like Splendid Spoon (read my thoughts here) may be more up your alley.
Overall, Sprinly is an incredibly worthy choice for vegans, vegetarians, and those who wish to eat more plant-based foods as part of a healthy diet. A lot of time, energy, and expertise goes into every meal that Sprinly puts out there. So although you only have 6 meals to choose from each week, all 6 meals are slam dunks.
If you have ever felt the strain of preparing vegan meals, and ones that are tasty and satisfying, then it’s about time you look into a vegan meal delivery service like Sprinly. The customer reviews say it all – Sprinly is one of the best vegan delivery options for busy people who don't want to shop, prepare, cook and clean their meals.
